Development Tools
Several software and system simulation tools are available to
assist in developing custom modem architectures based on the
QAM-20 evaluation. These tools include a DSP Library, a
modulator filter design program, a signal simulator design
program, and demodulator design program. All tools operate in
the PC-DOS and the Windows 95 environment.
Signal Generator Toolbox (QAMGEN)

QAMGEN is a QAM signal generator tool for simulating and
testing demodulator designs
- Generates oversampled QAM signal files
- User specified digital filtering
- Generates multipath distortion
- Generates static or dynamic fades
- Generates swept frequency fades
- Generates polarized signal models
- Generates user specified constellations
- Generates user specified C/N ratios and carrier offsets
Demodulator Design Toolbox (DEMOD)

DEMOD is a demodulator design tool that performs the following
functions
- Quantizes based on ADC bit length
- Simulates digital downconversion
- User specified Nyquist coefficients
- User specified conversion frequency offset
- Simulates resampled clock recovery
- Simulates blind equalization
- Simulates decision directed equalization
- Simulates carrier removal algorithm
- User specified phase error table
- User specified slicer tables
- Simulates AGC
- Simulates AFC
- Compute dispersion constant / step sizes
- Quantizes coefficients for fixed point HW
- Graphical Presentations
